About Us

Welcome to About Dynamic Rain and Thunder

Dynamic Rain and Thunder Film Company, LLC is an independent film production company founded in 2000. We have produced six full length feature comedies, beginning with "Ugly Days in Idiotvylle" in 2001.

Our next project, which will be a film noir comedy, is slated for production in 2012.

My name is AJ Gonzales and I am the owner of Dynamic Rain and Thunder. I wear sunglasses on days I cry alot....and as with most devoted sunglass lovers, I wear them to hide my googly eyes.

Dynamic Rain and Thunder was started in Ian H. R. Plumb's kitchen in March of 2000. Ian, myself and the notorious Dan "Tucan Dan" Korea came together to discuss the idea of filming a screenplay I had written called "Ugly Days in Idioyvylle".  Ian was smart enough to end his participation once he sobered up. Not known for his smarts, Dan grudgingly followed me into the trenches of Indie Film Making.  (Fun Fact: Ian's apartment is the identical floor plan as Peter's apartment in Office Space)

Over the years DR&T has had the profound honor of working with many incredibly talented actors. Some have stayed since the beginning, making a close knit family.

Our primary focus has always been comedy. I belive we can make the world a better place through laughter.

As we emerge from our nearly three year hiatus, I welcome everyone who's been waiting on our next project to let me know your thoughts.

More about AJ

I'm the guy on the left.

Gabe, Gabe and More Gabe

Gabe stumbled upon our auditions for "Are You Having A Good Day?" way back in 2002. Actor, co-writer, co-director, co-producer and always the first to get stuck in a funny outfit,  Gabe became Dynamic Rain and Thunder's proof we could have a good side.

Gabe has acted in every movie since Good Day, yet I never had him in mind when writing the script. Somehow, and no one really knows how, Gabe infests a film set and begins to spread his creative tentacles through the filming process.

Real Estate Agent Gabe, Chef Gabe, House Guest Gabe, he's performed some of the most beloved DRandT characters.

Gabe's most valuable contribution to DRandT has been his creative touches to existing material. Many times we've been filming and Gabe's suggestions not only made the scene better, but provided more context for the rest of the movie.

Andy

The other Andy in DRandT, Andy has been with us since the fall of 2000. He's played a major role in every production, both in front of and behind the camera.

Angi

Angi stepped into the role of Ana Cazares two months before shooting Ugly Days back in 2001. She's been in every production since.

Mike

Mike's support for DRandT has been vital. He's been involved with DRandT since its start, serving as a technical advisor and fill in actor who tends to steal the show.

Phil

Phil had a major input to The Union of Sleepy-Tyme Beddy-Bye Foliks! and especially TRK.

THE BUSY YEARS

2001-2008

Between 2001 and 2006 we shot six movies. Four are feature length and complete. One was meant as a test project and Miyolarosa was shelved due to the difficulty in editing the existing footage.

THE BREAK

2008-2010

Our break unofficially began after last pick up shots were done for the final version of TRK. As we began pre-production on Beware of The Captain in 2008 we were forced into hiatus with both the state of the economy and the violence in Mexico (our desired shooting locale). We waited through both 2009 and 2010, taking time off and enjoying it with family. Pre-preoduction has again started for our next movie, which we anticipate will shoot in 2012.

OLD FRIENDS

Odds are you won't see them in future DrandT productions, however, there would be no DrandT without the following guys.

Ben

Ben began with Drandt the same week as Andy M. His belief in what we were working towards made everyone work harder and care more about every detail.

Darrell

Darrell's devotion to Drandt gave us the discipline and professionalism we needed through our first several years. He served as an example of what talent mixed with drive could accomplish.
