Mr. Kheil

Mr. Kheil is Lane's boss in TRK. A straight shooter and a man whose had enough of Lane's slacker ways. Kheil fires Lane after he discovers pornography on Lane's work computer. Kheil begins a romantic affair with Lane's ex, Abby, while Lane and his friends are in Mexico. Though still a jerk, Kehil gives Abby the stability and maturity she needs to clean up her act.

Inspiration (AJ Gonzales): Mr.Kheil comes from my made up company "Trasticom" I wrote about in Ugly Days, a place where management is there to drain the life from employees. It's interesting to see that Kheil actually does Lane a huge favor by firing him, forcing him to take action on his real passion in life and no longer wasting his time at a job he hated. Kheil does the reverse for Abby, by giving her a chance to succeed and believing she could be a functional adult. I wish we had the time in TRK to show more of the Abby/Kheil story and Abby's road to functional living. |
